Is your little one physically, emotionally, and socially ready for the classroom? Most preschools consider an appropriate preschool age to be around three to four years old, but this isn't a magic number for every child. Preschool readiness depends on a lot more than age.

The city and School District of Philadelphia provide free, high-quality, full-day pre-K classes for all city kids ages 3 to 5. A child must be at least 3 years old to enroll, but families can begin the application process before their child turns 3.

Free, full-day pre-kindergarten services for children ages 3-5. Rolling enrollment as a child turns three. Children who are five on or before September 1st must apply to Kindergarten. Registration can be completed online or in person.
